My Family

My father, James Harry Stevens was a truck driver for over 35 years. My mother, Betty Lue Gauntt Stevens was a stenographer at one point for Red River Army Depot, worked for Walmart for several years including as a manager of Electronics, worked several years in various other retail stores, worked as a babysitter, as a substitute teacher, and as a housewife.

My father who I always called Daddy died 13 years ago, and my Mama passed just this previous year. Sometimes it felt like I hardly knew my Dad since he was gone so much and Mama I was always close too. I didn’t always get along with her, but I loved her.

My oldest brother, Brad is ten years older than me. He spent 20 years in the Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant. He now works in the IT industry. My other older brother, Mickey is an attorney, and my little brother Chris is also in the IT industry. I’m the only one of us four brothers to have remained in Texas. Two of them are in Arkansas and the other is in Louisana.
